"I'm proud to be gay."
"I'm proud to be bisexual."
"I'm proud to be American."
"I'm proud to be a teenage Christian."
"I'm proud to be black."
I'm proud to be this, I'm proud to be that, etc, etc.
Things you were either raised or born with do not go hand in hand with "pride". Be proud of something you actually put effort in, that's the right time to brag.
Otherwise, you're just happy/satisfied. Not proud.
